Get Started

Getting Started with REFRACT Platform

How to get started with REFRACT Platform, whether you're installing from Microsoft AppSource or onboarding directly. Both paths lead to the same place.

REFRACT Platform can be deployed in two ways: by installing an adapter from Microsoft AppSource, or by starting directly at the Vault onboarding portal. Both paths converge at the same point: a 30-day trial license, agent-assisted deployment, and a System Status Check that confirms everything is working.

Two paths, one destination

Path A

Microsoft AppSource

Install the Business Central, Dynamics Sales, or Power Platform adapter from AppSource. A post-install prompt initiates onboarding.

Path B

Direct Onboarding

Go directly to the Vault onboarding portal, sign in with your work account, and submit your access request.

The shared journey

Regardless of how you start, the onboarding journey follows the same stages:

1

Request access

Sign in at vaultpdf.io/onboarding with your Microsoft or Google work account. Submit your company details and the adapters you plan to use.

2

License issued

The Vault team reviews your request and issues a 30-day trial license. You receive your license file by email along with a link to your tenant admin portal.

3

Onboarding session

A Vault onboarding engineer schedules a deployment session with you. They deploy the Dispatcher to Azure, configure your adapters, and load ready-to-use document templates (Vault Packs) matched to the products you selected in your access request.

4

System Status Check

Run the System Status Check from VaultLifecycle. All sections green means your deployment is complete. Your Vault Packs are immediately available - your team can start generating documents on day one.

5

Trial to subscription

At the end of your 30-day trial, subscribe to continue. The Vault admin activates your subscription in the admin portal, upgrading your license plan. Your Dispatcher, adapters, and VaultLifecycle workspace are unaffected. No reinstall or redeployment is required.

What gets deployed where

The adapter (BC extension, Sales solution, or Power Platform connector) lives inside your Microsoft environment. The Dispatcher is an Azure Function you host in your own Azure subscription. REFRACT Platform never has access to your Azure environment. All deployment is done by you, assisted by the Vault team.

Trial and licensing

See Trial and Licensing for details on what the trial includes, how expiry works, and how to convert to a full subscription.
